Growing up in Pittsburgh I was fortunate to not only be the child of performing arts educators, but  because Pittsburgh is a major Broadway touring destination, I grew up on masterclasses from the traveling artists. The impact of these learning experiences were truly immeasurable.  I credit my success in booking the Broadway National Tour of Chicago from learning the original choreography from a masterclass in high school.

I hope to bring that same love and knowledge of the industry to your students! I have experience teaching students age 3-30.

Popular class styles include:

  • Musical Theatre Dance

  • Fosse Style Repertoire

  • Common Audition Combos

  • 16- Bar Technique

  • Acting Through Your Song

  • The "Business" of Show Business

I look forward to meeting your students!

Teaching Artist Statement

The studio is our safe space as artists. This is where we first looked at ourselves in the mirror in a new way. The first time we moved across the floor with a purpose. The first time we felt what it’s really like to stand on our own two feet. And it iswith that respect that I teach.

I am the daughter of 2 arts educators. I grew up watching my parents not only perform with their dance company, but was lucky enough to witness the outreach as well. Whether it was on a huge stage or a school cafeteria, it was miraculous to see how the performing arts could move people. They are the ones that instilled in me the importance of  'class.'

I begin each class, whether it is a one day masterclass or a longer curriculum, with a full body warm up. Even if you are not dancing that day, it is important as artists that we respect our entire instrument. This also instills in younger artists the importance of routine in their own practice at home. And with that discipline, I also want to make sure we are finding the joy! I always say how lucky I am that my childhood passion became my career. How many of us can say that? Let’s make sure we always remember how fortunate we are every time we step into the studio.

I did not take my transition from performing to teaching lightly. I know how important it is to really be present in a young person’s education and I never wanted to jeopardize their base technique with my personal career goals. Most importantly, the end goal is not about training the “best performers." It is about teaching self-motivation, confidence, leadership, problem solving, public speaking- all skills that we can take into our futures. On or off the stage.

As a professional artist and mom, I have seen first hand what an arts education can do to enrich children’s lives. I also have a special set of skills as a mom that only enhances my communication with the students. It brings me so much joy to find patience with each student as we discover their individual artistic learning path.

I hope to connect with you and your students in the studio and share why it feels like “home."
